The power of Retinol

Discover why retinol is such a popular skincare ingredient

What is Retinol?

Retinol is a form of vitamin A commonly used in skincare for its powerful anti-ageing and skin-renewing benefits3,4.
Retinol helps refine skin texture by supporting natural surface renewal and gentle exfoliation, revealing smoother, plumper-looking skin with visibly reduced fine lines and wrinkles7.

Dermatologist approved

Retinol is one of the best-known skin care ingredients on the market.

Many people turn to retinol as part of their skincare routine to support smoother, younger-looking skin.

Myth Busting

Separate fact from fiction with evidence-based information about retinol

"You can't use retinol if you have sensitive skin."
Fact: You may be fine using a lower concentration of retinol and plenty of moisturiser, but it's best to speak to a doctor first if your skin is particularly sensitive 8 .
"You can't use retinol in summer."
Fact: You can use retinol year-round! Retinol makes your skin more sun-sensitive, but you don't have to stop using it in the warmer months. Just be sure to wear sunscreen everyday 8 .
"Retinol gives instant results."
Fact: Patience is key! It can take weeks to see real improvements in your skin 7 .
"The more you use, the better."
Fact: Overdoing it can lead to irritation, redness, and drying. Less is more with retinol – start with 2–3 nights a week, then slowly build up 8 .
"You can't mix retinol with other ingredients."
Fact It depends. Salicylic acid, glycolic acid and vitamin C can all be drying, so consider alternating them with retinol 7 . Retinol can be paired with niacinamide, peptides, and hyaluronic acid 7 .
